For all you 80s babies out there, get ready to rock as Quiet Riot and Vixen will be making a stop at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center this Saturday night, August 15th. Vixen, the all-girl 80s rock band, will hit the stage first, starting at 8:00 pm, with Quiet Riot to close the show.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters of SWLA's annual Bowl for Kids Sake is happening at Petro Bowl this Saturday, August 15, 2026. This year's theme is Glow Bowl Celebration. Enter your team on their Facebook page.

Movies With The Mayor is also back this weekend, hosted by Lake Charles Mayor Marshall Simien. The City of Lake Charles Recreation & Parks Department will be showing a family-friendly animated movie, Disney's comedy classic The Emperor's New Groove.
It all happens this Saturday, August 15th, when doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and will start promptly at 5 p.m. inside the Rosa Hart Theatre at the Lake Charles Event Center, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive.
