Whataburger Hosting Late-Night Study Break for McNeese Students This Week

Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - McNeese students are about to get the study break of the year thanks to Whataburger in Lake Charles, and we've got everything you need to know about the event that is happening THIS WEEK.

Finals are coming up soon, and that means students are getting ready for some long nights of studying. As many students know, the weeks before finals can be very stressful. You want to do your best, but all that work can make your brain feel worn out.

Personally, Whataburger is one of my favorite fast food joints. Whether it's a classic burger, a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit, or a BBQ Tender Sandwich, I'm all in. The Whataburger story and how they've grown over the years are actually pretty fascinating...

Whataburger was founded in Corpus Christi, Texas, by Harmon Dobson on August 8, 1950. Back then, a Whataburger cost only 35 cents. The company grew quickly, and by 1960, it had 17 locations across the Deep South.

Whataburger will be hosting its first-ever study break event just for McNeese students this week in Lake Charles. This is a chance to step away from your books, have some fun, and enjoy free food before getting back to your finals prep.

The new Whataburger at 1835 Country Club Road in Lake Charles is inviting McNeese students to stop by on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. There will be music, fun activities, and even a chance to win a free Whataburger for a whole year. Gator 99.5 will also be broadcasting live during the event!

To enter the drawing, all you need to do is show the Whataburger app on your phone. Students who bring their McNeese ID will also get a free Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit.

So if you need a break from finals, head over to Whataburger on Tuesday, December 2nd. Enjoy some free food, have a little fun, and recharge before hitting the books again.
