Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - Have you driven around the roads in Lake Charles lately? If you have, then you know that the struggle is real. It seems like every road you go down is under construction.
Don't get me wrong, I am all about improvements and making our roadways safe and easy to drive on. But it seems like every road or highway is under construction all at the same time.

We all know about the construction taking place on the lake with the building of the new I-10 bridge. That in itself is causing delays daily. It will be nice to have a new bridge once it's done so we don't have to drive over that scary old bridge.

The I-10 Clearance Bar Exit in Westlake, Louisiana
Ah, the infamous I-10 Clearance Bar in Westlake. It seems that at least two to three times a week and 18 wheeler, RV, or big box truck hits that thing, causing major delays.

The overpass on Highway 171 over I-10 in Lake Charles
For the past few weeks now, the overpass has been reduced to one lane in both the northbound and Southbound lanes. It is causing traffic getting off the interstate to stack up and is slowing down traffic on the interstate.

Highway 14
They have been busy repaving both Northbound and Southbound lanes from 12th Street all the way to almost McNeese Street in Lake Charles, causing one lane of traffic to be closed.
Lake Street between Dr. Michael Debakey Drive and Saillier Street in Lake Charles
The road is currently closed, and you have to take a detour toward St. Patrick's Hospital. I would just avoid that section of Lake Street altogether.
