Whether you realize it or not, the Thanksgiving holiday is just a little over a week away. Can you believe how fast this year is flying by? Well, believe it because before you know it, Christmas will be here too.

Because Thanksgiving is coming up next week, a lot of businesses, restaurants, and local and federal offices will be closed to observe the holiday. One of those places that will be closed is the City of Lake Charles.

With that being said, the city of Lake Charles has advised us that there will be no garbage and trash pickup on Thursday, November 24th on Thanksgiving day this year.

instead, the city has altered and changed your trash pickup times and dates. You will need to be conscious of when your trash will be picked up during the holiday and we have the changed schedule for you here.

According to Katie Harington with the City of Lake Charles,

Trash and garbage regularly scheduled for pickup on Thursday will be rescheduled for pickup on Friday, November 25, 2022.

Trash and garbage regularly scheduled for pickup on Friday will be rescheduled for Saturday, November 26, 2022.

All Recycling stations, including the Wood Waste Facility and the Nelson Ball Field (Alma Lane) will be closed on Thursday, November 24, 2022. Normal hours will resume on Friday, November 25, 2022.

Also as a friendly reminder, containers and other items for pickup should be placed before 7:00 am on your collection day and you will need to remove your trash can by 7:00 pm that night after they dump your trash.

Have a great holiday!
