Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit Set For September In Sulphur

National breast cancer month is from October 1st through October 31st and folks come together all over the United States and have fundraisers and events to bring awareness of the disease.

In Southwest Louisiana, it's no different. There are a few big events that happen in October like the Ethel Precht cancer walk, the Scotty Schadler Boobs Cruise and so many more.

The Queen Of Pink orginization is to get a head start on breast cancer month by having a fundraiser in September before breast cancer month even starts. According to their Facebook page,

 The Queen of Pink Organization is a non-profit organization, whose purpose is to help Southwest Louisiana breast cancer patients in financial need, to pay for treatments and other expenses. The organization gives away $500 monetary gifts, each month, to help breast cancer patients in the five parish areas, of Southwest Louisiana.

The event called Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit will take place on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in Sulphur, Louisiana at Stines. Some of the events scheduled for that day include:

• A jambalaya cook-off
• Anything with wheels shows
• Sweet shop
• Snow cones
• Silent auction
• Split the pot
• Raffle tickets and more
