If you are a parent, talk to your kids about how serious this manner is. Tell them how important it is to let someone know if this is happening at their school. Threats can turn into actions and actions can be very serious.

In a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's office;

Last night at approximately 8:00 p.m. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives were contacted by several parents of students who attend Moss Bluff Middle School in reference to threats against the school.
            During the initial investigation detectives spoke with several students who advised they received messages on social media from a 13 year old student stating he was going to shoot up the school.  Detectives contacted school officials and were able to obtain an address for the boy.  Once they arrived at the home, a consent to search was completed on the house as well as the boy’s cell phone.  CPSO Forensic Detectives were called to the home and completed a forensic download on the phone, which confirmed the device was used to create the social media accounts, as well as, sent the threats.
            When detectives spoke with the boy he confirmed he was responsible for creating the social media accounts and sending the threatening messages.  The boy was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and is charged with 2 counts of terrorizing.
“If you have not done so already, please talk to your children and explain the seriousness of making threats,” urges Sheriff Mancuso.   This is no joking matter and students need to know they will be arrested if they make threats toward a school.
                The investigation is continuing and more charges are possible.
CPSO Detective Louis Guy II is the lead investigator in the case.
