The CMA Awards' top honor Entertainer of the Year features a bunch of young'uns and one legend.

The Entertainer of the Year category includes the most nominated artist in the history of the show... George Strait as well as two-time Entertainer of the Year winner Taylor Swift and reigning trophy-holder Blake Shelton. Rounding out the category are three-time Entertainer nominee Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, who makes his debut in the category this year. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley co-host the CMAs live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena tomorrow at 7 p.m.  on ABC.

He’s the CMA’s reigning Entertainer of the Year. The live rounds of The Voice's fifth season are under way. Blake had to get the night off to attend the CMAs. His latest album, Based on a True Story, was released in March. So far, it has yielded three hit singles -- “Boys ‘Round Here,” “Sure Be Cool If You Did” and “Mine Would Be You.”

 

 

 

George Strait

King George is the most nominated artist in the history of the CMA Awards with 82 nods total. George just announced the final dates of the Cowboy Rides Away tour in 2014. 15 shows have already sold out. In August, George extended his record contract with his longtime label MCA for five additional albums.

 

 

 

Jason Aldean

Jason’s Night Train tour hit several historic venues in 2013, including Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Sanford Stadium at the University of Georgia in Athens. The Athens show was filmed for the live concert DVD Night Train to Georgia, which was released on October 15th. This is Jason’s third consecutive nomination for Entertainer of the Year. Night Train features the smash hits “The Only Way I Know,” “Take a Little Ride,” “1994” and the title track.

 

 

 

Luke Bryan

Luke is the ACM’s reigning Entertainer of the Year. In 2013, Luke played to more than 1.3 million fans on the sold-out Dirt Road Diaries tour, which featured special guests Florida Georgia Line and Thompson Square. He launches the That’s My Kind of Night tour on January 16th in Columbus, Ohio with Lee Brice and Cole Swindell. This is his first CMA nomination for Entertainer of the Year.

 

 

 

Taylor Swift

Taylor goes into the CMAs with six nominations. She recently wrapped the Red tour in the U.S. The road show picks up in Australia and New Zealand at the end of the month. Shows in England and Germany are on the books for next year. Taylor has been to South Africa this fall to film her scenes in the adaptation of the dystopian novel The Giver. She went brunette for her role as Rosemary. She's working on new material for an upcoming album.
