Kelly Clarkson and her fiance, Brandon Blackstock, have called off their big wedding plans, but they’re still getting married. In a new interview, the singer reveals they are now planning to elope.

Balancing both of their busy careers with planning a huge, formal wedding turned out to be too much for the couple. The 31-year-old singer says that after they sent out an announcement, the wedding started to snowball, with details leaking and pressure mounting. Blackstock manages Blake Shelton. In the end, they sent out an engagement photo to all of the invited guests, along with an explanation that the wedding would now consist of just Clarkson, Blackstock, his two children and a minister. The simple ceremony will allow the very public couple the chance to celebrate their special day in a more private setting.
