The July 4th weekend is here and most people are going to have a four-day weekend. Even though Monday, July 3rd is still a workday for most people, a ton of folks are taking off Monday to make it a four-day weekend.

Such is the case for the city of Lake Charles and its employees. The city announced that they will be closed for the 4th of July holiday. With that being said, Lake Charles residents whose trash gets picked up on Tuesdays will not get their trash picked up that day.

Here is the new schedule per the city of Lake Charles.

Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

All other routes will remain on their regular schedules.

All Recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. They will resume regular operations on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

Now for folks in Calcasieu Parish, The police jury will be closed for two days to observe the holiday. They will be closed on Monday, July 3rd, and Tuesday, July 4th, 2023. So with that being said, will your trash pickup be changed?

According to the Calcasieu Police Jury, they said that garbage and trash pickup will run as scheduled for Waste Management customers. So there you go. Now you know when your trash will be picked up next week for the holiday. Have a safe and Happy 4th of July, everyone!
