2017 Emoji Additions Include a T-Rex, Mermaid, and Curling Stone

The Unicode Consortium, aka the organization in charge of emojis, has announced 51 new emojis that will debut during the summer of 2017. Yeah, I know, summer 2017 seems forever away, but these new emojis are worth the wait.

Some of the emojis making an appearance next summer include a woman breast feeding, a UFO, and a curling stone. Honestly, I'm not sure if the curling stone emoji will be getting a lot of love, but high five to Unicode for representing for all those curlers out there.

You can check out the list of all 51 emoji additions on the Unicode Consortium's website, but I'm just going to give you the heads up right now, Unicode got pretty freaking whimsical on us.

My favorite summer 2017 additions are the fairy, merperson, vampire, elf, genie, zombie and witch. Yep, emojis are about to be all sorts of fantastical and I can't wait! I mean, how many times have you been like "ugh, this text would be 100 times better if I only had a mermaid emoji"? Many times, I know.
