The Angola Prison is auctioning off their ranch horses on May 29.

The horses will be sold on consignment through Southwest Horse Sale's website. The average age of the horses being sold is seven years old, and they are used weekly and even daily by prison employees and the prisoners themselves.

The auction itself will be live and virtual with live demonstrations of horses beginning at 9:00am. Not only will the auction feature the prison horses, but also barrel racers, trail riders, ropers, ranchers, and more throughout the day.

The virtual auction will be live on their website for remote bidding when it begins at 12:00pm. You can visit the live auction the day of at 80187 Watts Thomas Road in Bush, Louisiana.
