Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - If the smell of something delicious simmering in a cast-iron pot is enough to make you stop in your tracks, September has an event you won't want to miss in Lake Charles.

The second annual Black Pot Cook-Off is coming to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort: Lake Charles, LA on Saturday, September 19, 2026, bringing together cooks, campers, music lovers, and Louisiana music legend Wayne Toups.

The cook-off is all about what's happening inside those black cast-iron pots. Teams will put their cooking skills to work while competing for the coveted first-place trophy. Whether you've perfected a family recipe or have a signature dish you swear could beat anything else in the pot, this is your chance to put it to the test.
