The boat launches is Calcasieu Parish were closed by the Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness on Monday due to the rising water in the Calcasieu River.

The Parish had put into effect a state of emergency back on Saturday, April 8th due to rising water levels from recent heavy rains.  Now the water levels on the river have dropped to near normal conditions which prompted the Parish to go ahead and re open the launches.

The Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness are set to re-open all the boat launches this Friday, April 14th.  It will be open for all recreational and commercial traffic on the river.
