Cajun Flavors for National Donut Day
First of all, we here in Louisiana have our own version of the donut. It's called a beignet, and it is a beloved part of our culture and cuisine. It is a sweet treat made famous at Cafe du Monde in New Orleans, and for almost a hundred years tourists and locals alike have spilled powdered sugar all over their clothes for the divine puffy pastry.
Friday is National Donut Day, so I thought I would pass along some of my favorite flavors here in Louisiana, or ones that I would definitely like to see put on a menu somewhere. And if you HAVE seen them somewhere, make sure you let me know!
