Big News: New Carnival Cruise Ship Coming to Galveston, Texas

[KNGT-FM] - Attention cruisers. If you love taking vacations and taking a cruise is your vacation of choice, then get ready because a new ship is coming to the Port of Galveston soon.

If you live in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, or nearby, the Port of Galveston is a top choice for cruising. Its convenient drive-to location makes it a favorite among residents, and that’s exactly why some of the world’s biggest cruise lines choose to sail from there.

The Port of Galveston is home to Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, and Disney cruise lines, and all of them offer short cruises ranging from 4-5 days up to 7-10 day cruises out of the port.

One of the most popular cruise lines in the world, Carnival, has just announced that a new ship will be arriving in the Port of Galveston in 2027. The Carnival Horizon is set to dock in Galveston in the Spring of 2027.

Its first voyage will take place out of the port on May 19, 2027, on a special eight-day Western Caribbean cruise with stops in Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Isla Tropicale.

The 4000 passenger vessel will then offer four and five-day cruises after its first voyage from Galveston. Once the Carnival Horizon arrives, Carnival will have four different ships sailing out of the Port of Galveston.

The four ships include the Carnival Breeze, Jubilee, Spirit, and now the Horizon. Carnival Cruise Lines broke the news, saying,

Fun is on the move, and as part of Carnival Cruise Line’s 2027/28 deployment, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Spirit will homeport in Galveston for the first time, joining Carnival Breeze and Carnival Jubilee.

 

In addition to the introduction of ships that are new ships to Galveston, highlights include an expanded seven-day program aboard Carnival Breeze, Bahamas sailings aboard Carnival Jubilee that feature Celebration Key, as well as unique Panama Canal and Journeys itineraries aboard Carnival Spirit.
