Traveling around to see Christmas lights is a great way to get into the spirit, and there is no shortage of opportunities to see some amazing displays of electronic masterpieces in the Lake Charles area.

In Lake Charles, Trinity Baptist Church features an eight-minute, hi-tech light display, complete with musical accompaniment from now through Christmas.

The "Penguin" family features the Lake Area Light Show on Adler Street. They have been growing their display since 2006, when they used just over 4,000 lights, to what it is today at nearly 33,000 lights. Simply drive up, tune your radio to FM 94.9, and sit back and enjoy the lights as they dance to a complete concert of Christmas music. The website said it would all be ready this week (12/13), so make sure it's a stop on your route.

Christmas on the Hill in Sulphur has been up and running for a couple of weeks. According to their website, they decided about nine years ago to set their lights to music. They have really upped their techno-game in the last couple of years by adding LED lights and using bulbs and strands that save power. Christmas on the Hill is located at 2151 Lynn Trahan Road.

Final programming touches are being put on the Carlyss Light Show Spectacular to begin this week. It's located at 1372 Carl Lyons Road. The show has gotten great reviews in years past, so this is definitely a stop to put on the list.
