🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — Since today is National "One Hit Wonder" Day, It made me wonder how many one-hit wonders there have been in country music throughout the years. There are those songs that pop out of nowhere, dominate the airwaves, and then the artist seems to vanish as quickly as they appeared.

There have been several of these fleeting hits in country music. There is a long list of singers who had one huge moment, but never made it back to the top of the charts, despite the genre's reputation for enduring performers like George Strait, Reba and Garth.

Top "One Hit Wonders" of Country Music

Lets start with this 1992 hit song Achy, Breaky Heart by Billy Ray Cyrus, it is among the most well-known examples. An overnight success after the song went viral. Nothing in Billy Ray's career ever came close to matching the mania of that song.

Cale Dodds is another entertaining one-hit wonder who gained popularity with Take You Back but had little success thereafter.

What about Heartland? Their wedding ballad I Loved Her First became a country wedding staple.

Next up Jessica Andrews, whose 2001 song Who I Am moved people. It was her only major hit on the charts.

Move On, a catchy success by the Warren Brothers in the early 2000s, faded as fast. Despite a few follow-up songs.

Big & Rich, known for Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy), After that song they never went anywhere else.

So, today as we celebrate National One-Hit Wonder Day, Lets look back at these songs that we all know and loved, and just give them a thanks for singing them, even for a short time on the charts, they definitely made an impression in our memory.
