The McNeese State Cowboys have broke the four and four streak with their fifth win in a row. Yesterday the Cowboys beat Sam Houston State 5-2 in Huntsville.

The Pokes (9-4) had won their first four, then lost four in a row. They stopped that streak with a fifth win in a row yesterday. It's the first five game win streak for the Cowboys since 2012. Junior Ethan Stremmel pitched four innings and only gave up one run. Corey Laplace got his second save of the year pitching the last inning and a third while giving up no runs. Senior Andrew Guillotte went three for five with a double and two runs scored.

The Pokes road trip continues this weekend in Houston as they play a weekend series against Houston Baptist (6-6). Next Wednesday the Cowboys travel to Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers.
