
Largest Cruise Ship in the World Coming to Galveston, Texas
Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - Another big announcement has been made about cruise ships and the Port of Galveston, Texas. It has just been announced that the largest cruise ship in the world will be making the Port of Galveston its home in 2027.
This mega ship, Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, was built and completed in 2023 and made its maiden voyage on January 27, 2024, out of the port of Miami. It has been sailing out of Florida since January 2024, but it was announced that it would be moving to Galveston, Texas, in 2027.

In a statement from Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, they said,
The ship that revolutionized family vacations is set to deliver the biggest adventures yet from Texas. The show-stopping Icon of the Seas will sail from Galveston for the first time starting August 2027, joining Royal Caribbean’s new action-packed lineup of unforgettable getaways for the 2027-28 season.- Royal Caribbean

So, which ports will Icon Of The Seas offer during its sailings out of the Port of Galveston? Royal Caribbean went on to say,
Icon will deliver 6- to 8-night Eastern and Western Caribbean getaways to Royal Caribbean’s award-winning destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, along with Roatan, Honduras, and Cozumel. -Royal Caribbean
