Former LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron has started to make headlines recently after throwing out the idea that he might want to get into coaching again. On June 27th, the court said Kelly Orgeron should receive $8.13 million from the buyout since the two were married when Ed signed his contract extension with LSU in January 2020. Orgeron was rewarded with a new contract just after the Tigers went undefeated throughout the 2019 college football season and won the College Football Playoff.

Now, after all of the drama with his wife getting an $8 million payout from the LSU buyout, could Orgeron be ready to make a quick buck again, or is he really wanting to get back in the game?

Orgeron, who guided the Tigers to a perfect 15-0 season and a national championship in 2019, hinted during a recent appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast that he may be ready to return.

“I think it’s time,” Orgeron said. “I’m feeling it a little bit. Haven’t made the decision totally, but I’ve got my boys settled, coaching football now. It’s been four years since I’ve been out. I’m getting the itch again.”

For now, Orgeron hasn’t committed to anything, but his words suggest he’s seriously considering stepping back onto the field. Wherever he goes, the college football world will be watching closely to see what’s next for “Coach O.”
