Five years ago Matt Viator left the McNeese football program to take a job in the FBS at the University of Louisiana Monroe. Well his tenor at University of Louisiana Monroe came to an end yesterday it was announced.

Scott McDonald the athletic director at University of Louisiana Monroe said that he met with Viator and they both decided that it was time to move forward with new leadership.

One of the reasons that the head coaching spot was reevaluated is because currently ULM has not won a game this season as they sit at 0-10 this year.

In the past five years Viator's record as the head coach was a disappointing 19-39.  That is a stark difference to the success Matt Viator had a McNeese State when he was the head coach here.  Viator went 78-33 in his career with the Cowboys and got the team into five FCS playoff appearances.
