Saints Clinch Playoff Spot After Win Against Falcons
The New Orleans Saints clinched the first playoff spot in the NFC on Sunday after beating the Atlanta Falcons for the second time in three weeks.
The Saints beat the Falcons 21-16 in Atlanta to improve to 10-2 on the season and also winning their ninth game in a row. The Saints were led by quarterback Tasom Hill for the third straight week after Drew Brees went down with a collapsed lung and rib fracture injury.
The Saints also remained perfect in the NFC South division as they sit undefeated in the division at 5-0. The black and gold sit as the number one seed in the NFC and the first team to snag a playoff birth.
The Saints have four games left on their schedule in the regular season. They will take on the Eagles on the road this Sunday, December 13 at 3:25pm. That game will be live on FOX.
New Orleans then will face off against defending Super Bowl champs the Kansas City Chiefs at home in the dome. The Chiefs also clinched the first playoff spot in the AFC on Sunday.
The rest of the schedule for the Saints includes games against the Vikings and Panthers to finish the regular season.
The Saints will need to stay on their winning streak to make sure and secure the #1 seed in the NFC for the playoffs. The #1 Seed get a a buy week and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Now you can see why it is important that they stay on their current winning streak.
