Driving across a rough railroad crossing is a much less common occurrence now than it was years ago. In an effort to continue this trend the railroad crossing on Fruge Street (Highway 90) will be replace on March 20, 2015. This will result in the road's closure for two days.

A friend of mine recently moved here from Tennessee. He was commenting on how rough the streets are; but also told me that the state's railroad crossings are some of the smoothest he has ever encountered. Union Pacific Railroad is doing it's part. This means that every now and then we will be inconvenienced when the repairs or replacements are being made. Those using Highway 90 east of Goodman Road will have to reroute from March 20th at 9:00 a.m.until  March 22nd at midnight. Suggested alternate routes include I-10, I-210 and LA 397.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation urges motorist to use cation in this area and be alert for construction equipment and crews.
