Hunter Hayes has a new song to share with fans, and this one — titled "You Should Be Loved" — has a retro, swinging, doo-wop edge due at least in part to his collaboration with Justin Timberlake-backed pop group the Shadowboxers.

“I am so thrilled for ‘You Should Be Loved,'” said Hayes. “From the writing to the studio time to having the Shadowboxers on this song, it's been such a pure process and labor of love for the lyric and musical side. I'm excited to have a little bit of the music I grew up around in Louisiana represented on this track!"

The Shadowboxers — consisting of Nashville-based members Adam Hoffman, Matt Lipkins, and Scott Tyler — is pop stalwart Justin Timberlake‘s discovery. Timberlake signed them to his Villa 40 artist development company, and is currently working with the trio.

Hayes, who boasts five Grammy nominations to his name, has had a busy few days. He kicked off a month-long renovation project to update the music room at the Nashville School of the Arts with performances both on campus and at the Grand Ole Opry’s 92nd Birthday Bash on Oct. 6. Hayes collaborated with students during each set, allowing the teens to show off their musical skills as part of his band.

Additionally, with support from Samsung Electronics America, Inc., Hayes gifted $100,000 to the CMA Foundation for the renovation. As an ambassador for the school’s music program, Hayes will not only be restoring their guitar lab but also creating a working recording studio and implementing a masterclass series.
