History Lesson: International Rice Festival

The International Rice Festival is known as Louisiana's oldest agricultural festival. It started in 1937 and has welcomed millions of visitors over the years. Each fall, people from across Louisiana and beyond make their way to Crowley to enjoy the celebration.

One of the biggest draws each year is the live music, and this year's lineup features a mix of country, Cajun, and a ton of our local artists.

Live Music at the 2026 International Rice Festival

Country singer Easton Corbin will headline Saturday night, taking the stage from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The night will also feature performances from Curtis Breaux, the Leif Meche Band and Gyth Rigdon on the Supreme Rice Sound Stage.

There's plenty of Cajun music on the schedule, too. Wayne Toups, Keith Frank, Geno Delafose and Jamie Bergeron are among the artists set to perform throughout the festival.

While the concerts are a big part of the festival, there's plenty more to do throughout the weekend. Families can enjoy carnival rides, while you can also check out the arts and crafts vendors and other activities around downtown Crowley.

Other Fun at the International Rice Festival

The festival also features two parades. The Children's Parade is part of the celebration, while the Grand Parade is set for Saturday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The festival also includes a 5K, car show, fiddle and accordion contest, rice cooking contest, and rice eating contest.

Whether you're going for the music, the food, the rides, or the parades, the International Rice Festival offers something for just about everyone and is always a great time. The Rice Festival takes place this weekend in downtown Crowley.
