It’s Dale Mann’s Birthday! Did You Know He Can Rap?

The myth, the legend, the Mann! Dale Mann is celebrating a birthday today. We all know his voice; it's iconic in SWLA. As a kid dying to be in radio, I would listen each and every morning, attempting to mimic every word and delivery he would do. With a career that started in the '60s, he made his mark not only in Lake Charles but even in Nashville.

During his time at Gator, just before retiring, we persuaded him to read some lyrics to Usher's Yeah! and put them to the music of the song. The result? One of the greatest tracks to ever come out of SWLA. Dale Mann was rapping in the country genre before Old Town Road writer, Lil Naas X, was a twinkle in his parents' eyes.
