Secure Your Financial Aid At McNeese’s FAFSA Completion Day

(KHLA - Lake Charles, Louisiana) - It's that time again to start filling out FAFSA applications and McNeese is holding an event to help parents and students fill out the forms.

Current and incoming McNeese students looking to apply for financial aid for the 2026 - 2027 school year needs to start applying now.

KPLC talked with Katie Starling of McNeese about their upcoming event helping former high schoolers and current McNeese students that need help with the FASFA process.

On Saturday, January 10, 2026, the university will host a public FAFSA completion event in the Frazar Memorial Library.

In order to prepare students' grants and loans for the upcoming fall semester, the McNeese Financial Aid Priority Deadline is May 1.

This year's FAFSA modifications include a streamlined parent/contributor invitation, asset exclusions, prorated loans for non-full-time students, and the fact that Pell funds can no longer surpass the cost of attendance.
