Louisiana Gets Big Money Powerball Winner, But $600 Million Jackpot Goes Unclaimed

There is good news all the way around for Powerball players.

First, the latest jackpot has not been won. So, when you play again on Saturday, March 16, the estimated grand prize will be $600 million.

Second, someone in Louisiana did score a nice win in last night's drawing to the tune of $50,000!

That winning ticket got four of five numbers right plus the Powerball number. (Ahhh, so close!) However, $50K is nothing to sneeze at.

The winning ticket did not have a Power Play added on so that's why they "just" won the $50,000. Had they had the addition, they could have won up to $500,000.

Where was the winning $50,000 ticket purchased?

The winning ticket was sold at Belle Chasse Self Serve located at 9654 Highway 23 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana.

Belle Chasse is just south of New Orleans in Plaquemines Parish.

The winning numbers for the Wednesday, March 13, 2024 drawing were as follows:

Other big winners

Last night's drawing did have some other big wins including a $2 million winner in Georgia and a couple of $1 million winners, one in New York and the other in Texas.

The next Powerball drawing

The next drawing will take place this Saturday, March 16, 2024.

When that drawing takes place the estimated jackpot will be the aforementioned $600 million with a $293.4 million cash value.

What about Mega Millions?

That jackpot is even bigger at an estimated $792 million for the next drawing which will be Friday, March 15, 2024.

The cash option is estimated to be $381.8 million.

On Tuesday's drawing, there were two $1 million winners, one from Massachusetts and the other in North Carolina.
