Louisiana Lottery Reveals Powerball Results from Monday’s Drawing

Lottery players across Louisiana have had their sites set on Tuesday night ever since last Friday night. That's because on Tuesday, tonight, they'll draw for the more than $1 billion dollar jackpot that's available in the Mega Millions lottery game. However, before we can get to Tuesday's results, we need to let you in on what happened with the other big multi-state lottery game Powerball.

There was a Powerball drawing last night. The top prize was an estimated $82 million dollars plus. Here's how that drawing unfolded.

The Powerball website confirms the numbers drawn were:

The Powerball website also confirms that no tickets sold for last night's drawing matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize of $82,700,000.00. In fact, there were no tickets sold for last night that earned the Match 5 prize of one million or two million dollars respectively.

The Texas Lottery is reporting two big wins in last night's game. There was a $50,000 winner and a $100,000 winner sold in the Lone Star State but we don't know the point of purchase for those tickets. And we do know that Texas' Powerball luck was certainly better than Louisiana's.

The Louisiana Lottery is reporting that the top prize for a state-sold ticket for last night's Powerball game was only $200. And, there were only six tickets sold across the state that earned that prize. There were five others that earned a $100 prize but as far as Louisiana's luck is concerned, it was non-existent in last night's Powerball.

Maybe that bodes well for Louisiana players who want their shot at the Mega Millions jackpot. It's valued at $1,050,000.00. The drawing is scheduled for 10 pm this evening and the game should get a winner. There has not been a jackpot won for Mega Millions since April and there has never been a jackpot winner sold in Louisiana. It would be nice to take care of both of those issues with tonight's game.
