The Relay For Life will take place at the Lake Charles Civic Center Friday night. You can join the survivors, their families, and the people who will gather in an effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The organization devotes its funding to cancer  research, helping patient coping with the disease, education and prevention.

Organizers have a fun, inspiration evening planned. The Flamethrowers will take the stage following the opening ceremony at 6:00, and they will play as one person from each team continues to walk during the walk that begins at about 7:00.

survivor and caregiver lap is planned to begin . According to the American Cancer Society's website, the night concludes with a beautiful Luminaria ceremony:

Each light represents a life— a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It's a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope.

Hundreds of volunteers help make the Relay For Life a success, and they are hoping to "Pack The Track." It's not too late to get involved!
