On Thursday, January 25, at 11:02 a.m., a Lake Charles man was confronted by a resident and shot after a forced entry into a home. A second man has been arrested for his involvement in the incident.

Lake Charles Police responded to the shooting at 603 Madeline St, and upon arrival found the resident of the home uninjured and 23-year-old Isaiah Williams on the hallway floor. Williams had been shot by the resident, said a media release. He later died from his injuries.

There was a second person seen fleeing from the home following the shooting. On Friday, Jan. 26, at 1:44 a.m., LCPD located 21-year-old Freddie Dequan Vezia at 2506 Stanton St. He was arrested for his involvement in the shooting, and charged with 1 count 2nd-degree murder "due to being a principle in the home invasion that led to Williams being shot and killed," and 1 count home invasion.

Vezia's bond is set at $800,000.
