If you haven't been following the drama surrounding LSU Football, then let's catch you up real quick...

Saturday Night, LSU Football was embarrassed inside Tiger Stadium by Texas A&M, and following the loss, fans and boosters were not pleased. Reports have said that Governor Landry was closely involved in the discussions that led to Kelly’s firing. Meetings were held throughout Sunday with LSU leaders and donors, including one at the Governor’s Mansion. In turn, it has also been reported that those meetings didn’t include LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward.
The school now owes Kelly a $53 million buyout. Landry called that payout a “liability” and said he’s tired of seeing failure rewarded.
“I believe that we’re gonna find a great coach,” Landry said. “I’m tired of rewarding failure in this country and then leaving the taxpayers to foot the bill.”

Governor Landry Says Scott Woodward Will Not Hire LSU's Next Coach
Woodward was hired in 2019, but with a new regime expected to take over in the coming weeks, Woodward's time could be drawing to a close.
On Wednesday Afternoon, during a SNAP press conference, Landry shared his thoughts regarding the LSU situation and who would/wouldn't be making the next hire at LSU.
“I can tell you right now, [LSU Athletic Director] Scott Woodward is not selecting the next coach,” Landry said. “Hell, I’ll let Donald Trump do it before I let him do it.”
Landry said he wasn’t sure who would make the final choice but suggested that the LSU Board of Supervisors might form a committee to help.
