Louisiana Has the Worst School Bullying Problem in the Country
According to a new report, Louisiana has the worst bullying problem in the entire county.
The study examined things like bullying prevalence, bullying impact and treatment, and each state's anti-bullying laws to determine the rankings. Louisiana ranked #1 as the state with the biggest overall bullying problem, scoring #1 in Bullying Prevalence and #2 in Bullying Impact & Treatment. However, it fared a bit better in the Anti-Bullying Laws Rank, coming in at #32.
Louisiana was cited as having the worst cyberbullying of any state, and came in at #1 for having the highest percentage of high school students bullied online, while tying for 1st place with Maryland and the District of Columbia for having the highest percentage of high school students involved in physical fights while at school.
Louisiana also tied for 1st place with Arkansas for having the highest percentage of high school students who attempted suicide, while also tying for 2nd place with Alaska for the highest percentage of high school students who missed school for fear of being bullied.
