LSU Basketball SEC Opponents Announced for 24-25 Season

Though the College Basketball season ended just a few weeks ago, the season is in full effect with the ever-so-changing landscape of college athletics as coaches throughout College Basketball try and build their rosters around signees and the transfer portal. Well now the coaches in the SEC officially know who they will be playing against during the 2024-2025 conference season.

Conference play tips off on Saturday, January 4, and runs through Saturday, March 8. During league play, every SEC team faces the other 15 teams at least once. Throughout the season, there will be two recurring opponents and one new team every year for the second matchups.

When creating the schedule, one of the main goals was to ensure that long-standing rivalries would not go away as the SEC welcomes Oklahoma and Texas as new members in 2024–2025. In addition, previous home-and-away schedules for opponents that only allowed one play were maintained.

The LSU Tigers finished 17-16 overall and 9-9 in conference play during the 2023-2024 campaign. The Tigers will look to improve upon that in year three of the Matt McMahon era.
