Man Arrested Inside The Governor’s Mansion
As security breaches go, this would have to be considered to be a big one. A Baton Rouge man was arrested inside the Governor's Mansion last week after he apparently managed to avoid security and take a nap on one of the couches inside the domicile.
State Police say Reynard Green was booked Wednesday on counts including simple burglary, criminal trespass and criminal damage to property. It is alleged that Green entered the mansion without permission, broke an antique table, and then fell asleep.
When he was discovered in the building Green attempted to disarm security personnel who were dispatched to remove him from the premises. Green will be facing charges for those actions too.
As you might imagine those tasked with keeping the Governor's Mansion secure are not speaking freely about this incident. I would imagine that part of the reason is to keep security protocols secret so there won't be copy cat incidents. Security policy and protocol is currently under review following this incident.
