Coach Justin Hill remarked that the Cowboys were getting restless in practice games against each other, remarking, "It's time to play somebody else, there's a lot of competition this year. We lost some guys that were key contributors for us last year to graduation and the draft. We have a lot of guys returning and a lot of new players who did a good job in the fall."

For the first game, Hill is putting the ball into Rhett Deaton's hands. Deaton missed all of last season due to injury. Game two and three starters haven't been announced as of this writing.

The Cowboys are looking for some exquisite woodwork at the plate from returning offensive starters, such as Shane Selman (.273. 10 HR, 32 RBI) and third sacker Carson Maxwell (.295, 6 HR, 37 RBI). Both are in their senior year.

It's the second consecutive year the two teams have met. Last March, the Roadrunners came in and swept the 'Boys at Joe Miller in three games.
