McNeese Team Store Has a New Location in Lake Charles

KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — I ain't gonna sit here and pretend I'm the biggest sports fan in Southwest Louisiana. Unlike Mike and Chaz, I don't know every stat, every player, or what happened on some random third down 12 years ago. But when McNeese football season rolls around, I'm ready. Because McNeese football ain't JUST about football. It's tailgating, food, friends, cold drinks, music, and a whole lotta blue and gold.

Now THAT I can get behind. Some people might ask, "Scotty, what's the difference? If you love McNeese football, ain't you a sports fan?" Well...basically, I like to party. I love meeting people. I love roaming around and seeing what everyone is cooking. And I love seeing all the crazy Tailgating setups.

Now, if you are going to show up at a McNeese Tailgate. You had better look the part. That's where the McNeese Team Store comes into the story. First thing you need to know is the McNeese Team Store is now in a new location at 501 E. Sale Road in Lake Charles. And with football season getting here, this is a good time to swing by. Because you can't roll up to a McNeese tailgate wearing just anything.

The Team Store has the McNeese gear you need to get yourself ready to yell GEAUX POKES all season long. Shirts. Hats. McNeese gear. Blue and gold. Stuff for game day. Stuff to wear around town. Stuff that lets everybody know exactly who you're pulling for before you ever say a word.

And let's be honest, some of us probably have an old McNeese shirt in the closet that's been through about 14 football seasons, three hurricanes, a crawfish boil and somebody's gumbo pot. Might be time for an upgrade.

Mike has already talked about the block parties happening on Friday nights before McNeese home games, but we haven't really talked about my favorite part yet. Tailgating. I'll admit McNeese tailgating may not be as massive as what you'll see at some of those giant college football schools. But I don't care. Because ours is right here in our own backyard. You don't need to turn the whole weekend into a road trip. We have college football right here in Lake Charles.

And there's something about walking around before a Cowboys game. Smelling the food. Somebody has music playing. Folks are laughing. Kiddos playing football and running around. Next thing you know you have a plate full of chicken wings and jambalaya...I cant wait! That's my kinda sporting event.

When You Can Shop at the McNeese Team Store

The McNeese Team Store is open during the week with these regular hours:

Monday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Now if you cant make it during the week don't worry. The Store is open every Saturday during a home football game. Which means if you make it to the Stadium and forgot your shirt, they can get you fixed up. Also, check them out online anytime right HERE.
