
McNeese Set To Host Nicholls in Pivotal SLC Matchup Monday Night
Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - The race for first place in the Southland Conference will continue on Monday Night as McNeese will host Nicholls inside Townsley Law Arena.

Latest on McNeese Men's Basketball
For McNeese, the Cowboys have won six conference games in a row since dropping their conference opener in December to UIW. The matchup with Nicholls will be the final game of a 4-game home stand for the Cowboys, which includes wins over Lamar, Stephen F Austin, and Southeastern Louisiana.
On Saturday, McNeese earned a win over Southeastern Louisiana, extending its home winning streak to 21 games. Tyshawn Archie powered the Cowboys in the victory, pouring in a career-high 25 points.
Larry Johnson leads the Cowboys with 16.0 points per game, which ranks fifth in the conference. Javohn Garcia is also in double figures, averaging 11.9 points per game.

Scouting the Nicholls Colonels
After a rough start, Nicholls' 1-8 record has been all but reversed in conference play. The Colonels are off to the program's best start to league play since the 97-98 season. Nicholls comes into Monday Night sitting atop the Southland Conference standings at 7-0 in league play, having collected wins over HCU, Corpus Christi, Northwestern State, and UNO, among others.
The Colonels are led by Jaylen Searles, who paces the team in scoring at 14.3 points per game and also leads the team in blocks with 10. Sophomore guard Jalik Dunkley has been a major factor as well, leading Nicholls in field goal percentage and total rebounds. Dunkley is second on the team in scoring, averaging just under 14 points per game.
