Mike Soileau & His Wife Christie Crowned King & Queen Of Their Mardi Gras Krewe

We have been keeping this secret since September 2024, but it looks like we can now announce it to everyone. Last Saturday, February 22, 2025, we were crowned the King & Queen of our Mardi Gras Krewe.

Me and my wife Christie are members of the Krewe de Fous Amis which has been in existence since 2016. We joined the Krewe in 2018 and have been members for the past seven years and we love it, the people, and our Krewe itself.

When we got the call that we were selected as the 2025 King & Queen, we were over the moon about it. But then the reality of it hit us and realized there was a lot of stuff we needed to do to prepare for the night. Our house has looked like a craft store exploded in it for the past few weeks as Christie was making the decorations for the table and they came out great.

The theme of this year's ball was Casino Royale and everyone's table was decked out with casino-themed memorabilia like slot machines, poker chips, dice, and roulette wheels. I think our table was awesome. Check it out.

After all the decorating was done, Then the time had come to start the ball. I usually host the ball every year but this year since we were supposed to be the King & Queen we had to make up something to get me off the podium so I could go change while someone emceed the ball. Insert my morning show host Scotty.

I started the ball at 7:00 pm at the podium in my black tuxedo. Halfway through the first page, Scotty came running in interrupting the presentation and quote told me that Gator 99.5 was off the air and that I needed to call the engineer. That is how I made my great escape and Scotty took over as the emcee.

I quickly went backstage changed into my white tux and got all the gear on for the great reveal with my wifey.  Scotty made the big announcement and that is when we came out for the big reveal. Here are some pictures from below.
