NASA Plans Saturday Launch To The Moon
This week's inaugural Artemis One rocket launch to a new part of the moon by NASA suffered a major setback. Technical issues forced Monday’s launch from the Kennedy Space Center to be scrubbed. This rocket can reportedly go from 0 to 17,000 miles per hour in 18 seconds! NBC’s Jacob Ward reports for TODAY anything this powerful and that fast is nothing to play with. It would've been far too dangerous, in spite of there being no humans on board, to take a chance on damaging the rocket or enough more catastrophic it falling from the sky.
So, that is why NASA scrubbed the initial launch on Monday, August 29, 2022. Now it appears they fixed the technical issues. As of this morning, they announced that the rocket launch has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 3, 2022. Here's the TODAY show with more details.
