Because what says "Happy Easter" better than a marshmallow chick that tastes like breakfast?

I'm probably the last person that should be writing a story about Peeps, because I don't even like normal Peeps let alone flavored ones, but the fact that Easter 2019 is the year of the pancakes and syrup Peep just isn't sitting well with me.

I understand that Peeps have to keep up with the candy game and continue to reinvent themselves to stay relevant, but pancakes and syrup? Why?

It's not like they don't have other flavors coming out this year as well.
According to thekitchn.com, Cotton Candy, Orange Sherbet, Root Beer Float, Vanilla Crème, Chocolate Caramel Swirl and Blue Raspberry Flavored Marshmallow Chicks are all hitting the shelves this Easter.

I can get behind all those other flavors, but why throw in pancakes and syrup? It just doesn't make sense to me. But, hey, people eating sugar coated in sugar that's shaped like a baby bird doesn't really make sense to me either.
