For the tenth time during his presidency Barack Obama will be visiting Louisiana. The President is scheduled to speak at a high school in Baton Rouge this morning. His topics of conversation are expected to be focused on health care, jobs, and early childhood education.

The timing of the President's visit and his remarks on healthcare are expected to coincide with Governor Edwards proposal to expand Medicaid in Louisiana. Cedric Richmond, a Louisiana Congressman from New Orleans, says the President's speech should lend support to that effort to cover working individuals who might not otherwise have insurance coverage.

The fact that they wake up every day and go to work to try to support their family disqualifies them from the Medicaid and that I think is the most important part. So, I think it’s going to help Louisiana tremendously.

Congressman Richmond's remarks were featured in a story published by the Louisiana Radio Network.

The President is scheduled to make his remarks at McKinley High School in Baton Rouge this morning between 9 AM and 11 AM this morning. The event is open to the general public on a very limited basis. In fact most of McKinley's 1,400 member student body will not be able to get into the school's gymnasium to hear the President's address.
