Thirty-three years ago, Maverick was a high-flying rebel pilot training in the Navy. Now, Maverick, played by Cruise, is the teacher. The storyline is not clear, but there has been mention that he is training a new hot shot pilot that is Goose's son. Val Kilmer is expected to return to the sequel, along with Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm, and Glen Powell.

The trailer will instantly give you goosebumps as it nods to famous recreations of scenes from the original movie. The release is set for 2020.
