KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Rock N Roll Sushi is coming to Lake Charles, Louisiana, and I ain't gonna lie, I may be a little more excited about this one than I would've been a year ago. The sign is now up at 4740 Nelson Road, Suite 210, and while we still don't have an exact opening date, this thing is starting to look REAL.

Which brings me to something I never thought I'd say. I am going to admit...I just recently got on this train of liking Sushi. Yes me, the guy who always said, "im not eating that". They say after loosing weight that our taste buds will change and I can honestly say for me, thats true.

Foods I wouldn't have touched before suddenly aren't so bad. And somehow, someway, sushi made the list. So when I found out Rock N Roll Sushi was coming to Lake Charles, I was pretty dang excited.

The Sign Is Up On Nelson Road

Rock N Roll Sushi is headed to 4740 Nelson Road, Suite 210 in Lake Charles. And this isn't just some rumor floating around Facebook. So I checked out their website and it just says "coming soon" so we dont have an exact date just yet. But the sign is up. So we've gotta be getting close, right? RIGHT?

For folks who haven't been to one before, Rock N Roll Sushi is an American-style sushi restaurant built around sushi and rock 'n' roll music. Their menu isn't just raw fish either. They have different rolls, fried options, hibachi and other choices for the person in the family who hears "sushi" and immediately starts looking for the nearest hamburger.

And looking through their menu, I already see something that sounds like it belongs in Southwest Louisiana. Spicy Crawfish Roll. Cajun-seasoned crawfish with spicy mayo. Yeah. I'm listening. They've also got shrimp tempura, California rolls, spicy tuna, salmon, eel and plenty of other choices. Now here's the problem. I'm new to the sushi game so I will have to try so many new things in the next coming months. But, I'm learning.

So Rock N Roll Sushi, whenever y'all finally announce that Lake Charles opening date, I'll be ready. Turn the music up. Bring me some rolls. And somebody point me toward what I need to order first. Because apparently 44-year-old Scotty likes sushi now. Didn't have that one on my bingo card.
