Sheriff’s Office Searching for Suspect Who Committed Forgery & Bank Fraud
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office needs help to identify the man caught on surveillance camera cashing a counterfeit check at a Lake Charles bank.
According to a media release from Kim Myers, CPSO received a complaint on August 8, in regards to a counterfeit check, in the amount of $975, that was cashed several days earlier. They also learned the suspect tried cashing a second check at a different bank in Lake Charles but left before the check was verified by bank personnel.
Detectives later learned the checks were stolen during a vehicle burglary in Kinder on August 3. The suspect also used an ID that was reported stolen with the Lake Charles Police Department in February, to cash the checks.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect seen in the photo is asked to contact CPSO at 491.3605.
