While Louisiana is not offering a tuition-free program for essential workers, one state is.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has decided to start a program in her state called Futures for Frontliners. This program will offer tuition-free education to all essential workers, which includes those working in hospitals and nursing homes, grocery store employees, child care workers, sanitation workers, and people who deliver supplies.

Futures for Frontliners will ensure free tuition for college where qualified participants can earn a technical certificate, associate degree, or even a bachelor's degree.

Governor Whitmer hopes other governors will take a page from Michigan's book and try to implement this in their states.

What do you think? Should Governor Edwards try something like this here in Louisiana?
