The BP Oil Spill sent chills through the Louisiana seafood industry. Shrimpers, fisherman and those whose livelihood depends on the oyster harvest were all affected. Now this report says that Louisiana shrimp catch in August was higher than any prior August dating back to 2007. That marked the third straight month that Louisiana shrimp catch was significantly above historic averages. The report does not study the health, taste or condition of the shrimp other that their size.
