Study Says Waking Up to Music Is Better Than Standard Alarm
And thanks to our mobile app, you won't have to search for that old school clock radio.
Can we all agree that no one pops out of bed bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? Even if you are a morning person, like me, that initial moment of your sleep cycle being disrupted is not all gumdrops and roses. However, the moments that follow can be.
Just forego your typical alarm and wake up with us!
A new study from RMIT University in Australia says music is more effective at waking you up than a buzzing alarm. The secret is in the melody. A song that is catchy or fairly familiar will make you more alert than an annoying BEEP BEEP BEEP. In other words, the music will hold your attention and get your brain going, thus driving away those groggy, disoriented feelings within the first hour of waking up.
Kick-starting that brain after a night's rest or even a nap, can result in better mental performance throughout the day.
Although the study suggested that upbeat, pop songs were better at waking us up, any kind of music should work. After all, if you wake up to your favorite song, you're probably going to be singing along before you realize you're no longer sleeping. And lucky for you, you can set a custom alarm for yourself on our mobile app and be on your way to better mornings in no time!
