You voted -- and man, did you ever vote. Over 160,000 votes were cast over a two-week period to figure out which Lake Area school has the greatest school spirit. So it's the question everyone wants answered -- who won?

There’s a lot of history in Lake Charles, and some of it is quite interesting. I contacted an old family friend, Nola Mae Ross, to see if she would enlighten me on some of these little-known facts. Our first part in this series is about the Barbe and Sallier home on Shell Beach Drive.

Former Barbe Bus football player Janzen Jackson was dismissed from the University of Tennessee’s football program.  Janzen who is a junior at the school was released from the football program earlier today.
