Legislation to legislate the actions of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association have moved out of committee and are headed for debate on the House floor.

One member of the Louisiana Legislature thinks things in high school sports have gotten so bad that lawmakers need to get involved.

The LHSAA could have some competition for the sanctioning of high school athletics in the state of Louisiana.

The LHSAA has made a recent habit of making everybody mad from parents, to game officials, to school principals, to fans and players of high school sports. Is there a need for a new governing body for high school sports? One group says yes there is.

I understand the need for a governing body and final authority in governing high school sports. I don't understand why the LHSAA appears to think it is so much more than that.

More information on the agreement that will keep high school athletes on the field and on the court this fall has been released.

The LHSAA and the LHSOA have reached a tentative agreement in their dispute over referee pay and other issues.

After years of debate, the LHSAA has decided to have separate playoffs in high school football -- one for private schools, and one for public schools.  This could change state championships in Louisiana forever.
